Doin’ It, Doin’ It, Doin’ It…

March 11th, 2007

True story…

Dumber than a doornail - that’s what he was - one of the richest home-based businessmen I have ever had the opportunity to know personally.

For purposes of anonymity, lets call him Jack. Jack wasn’t your typical sharp-as-a-tack businessman, nor was he what you might term a master marketer.

Actually, he wasn’t really even all that bright. He was one of those types that, though he dressed nicely, when he opened his mouth, you would grit your teeth hoping he wouldn’t say something terribly offensive.

About 10 years ago, Jack approached Dave and myself about providing one of our services for his expansive downline in a network marketing company. While we were not interested in his network marketing program, nor did we believe we would gain a significant number of customers through this business relationship, Jack convinced us to provide our service for his organization.

What followed blew our minds…

Once we had all things set up and customized to begin taking orders, Jack made an announcement to his downline. The orders immediately began to trickle in. Jack sent out reminders for several weeks. The orders came by the thousands.

We had to hire more employees to take Jack’s orders. Every month, orders increased and business was booming.

It was crazy!

One of Jack’s associates had put together a fairly unattractive executive summary for all distributors to use. We offered to redo it free of charge. Jack declined and said he wanted it up right away…

“AS IS!”

Surely, even not-so-bright Jack could see the importance of reworking this document that thousands of distributors would be using.

Nevertheless, the executive summary went out “as is.” We felt sure it would backfire. But, do you know that things actually picked up faster soon after it was distributed?

My husband and I scratched our heads as we wondered what in the world Jack knew that we didn’t. What was so fantastic about Jack that he could have such influence over so many people. He said, “Jump,” and thousands of people asked, “How high?”

Why?

Jack invited us to accompany him to a conference he was putting together. We were to present our services to his audience. Dave and I went and we took a small sales force with us. During Jack’s lectures, Dave and I left our booth and peeked in to watch Jack every so often.

Throughout that whole three-day conference, I never heard Jack give any earth-shattering information. In fact, sometimes Jack would say something… well… STUPID right in the middle of his lectures. Yet, at Jack’s suggestion, people continued to sign up for our services in droves.

It wasn’t until the end of the conference that we figured out what it was that made Jack so successful.

Do you know what the secret to his success was?

Jack understood two things quite well:

1) He knew that to get a desired outcome, he had to actually DO something to get there.

2) He understood the exponential power of leveraging. Each person in that room that he could get to work toward his goal would exponentially get him to his goal that much faster.

Today, we want take a look at just the first item above…

Doing Something.

During those three days, Jack must have used the phrase “Doin’ It, Doin’ It, Doin’ It” several dozen times. It was really quite annoying. Yet, it didn’t sink in until the end of the conference what he was trying to teach his audience…

If they would just do something - anything - every day toward their goals, they would get there.

It’s so simple, it sounds ridiculous. Yet, that is exactly what not-so-bright Jack did to get to his millions.

He just started doing something. He didn’t wait until he had enough money to start his business (he started flat broke with a young family). He didn’t wait until the executive summary was perfect, nor did he wait until his company had a whole slew of products to sell.

He had a vision of where he wanted to be, simply started with what he had and DID SOMETHING - every day.

A dream is nothing more than a dream until you do something to make it a reality. The plain and simple truth is that you can’t wish your way to riches. You’ve got to do something about it.

The problem most of us face is that, though we have an idea of what ultimate outcome we want, the process of getting there seems overwhelming. Taking off bite-size pieces each day is a much better way of getting there.

And… it works!

Not-so-bright Jack is living proof of this principle. Trust me when I say that if Jack can do it, anyone can, it is not just some trite phrase.

Okay, let’s take a break for a short quiz.

Question:
Do you know what’s worse than a bad sales aid?

Give up?

Answer:
No sales aid at all.

This is a concept that not-so-bright Jack understood very well. He was anxiously engaged in “doin’ it, doin’ it, doin’ it” and in the process made his millions.

We have tried to take Jack’s advice over the years. It takes time and experience to come to understand the significance of this simple concept… doing something every day.

Now, ask yourself if there is something you have thought about doing but have put off.

Do you have an eBook you have been wanting to write but are afraid the market might already be saturated? Perhaps you are waiting to perfect the ebook before releasing it? Are you afraid you won’t know how to market it?

Have you wanted to put up a website for your products or services, but the task seems too daunting or too expensive?

Is there a business you would really like to start but are afraid of failure? Perhaps you feel you don’t have the capital to get it going?

If so, I challenge you to start today - NOW!

Write down your desired outcome. Then, do something - anything toward that goal every day. Don’t wait for perfect circumstances. Don’t wait for the ideal sales aid. Don’t wait for the money.

Don’t let self-doubt, fear, time-wasters or money keep you from doing some little thing each day. You may still have your doubts and fears, but by doing something every day and seeing your progress over time, you will soon find yourself with the needed confidence.

Whether it be a simple phone call, an email, trading links, writing a few words, or sketching an idea…

Do something everyday!

In just a few weeks, you will be amazed at the results.

And, if you’ve got a few more smarts than not-so-bright Jack, you might just make a few more million dollars than Jack in the process.

Your Own Membership Empire… Limited-Time Subscriber Special

March 11th, 2007

If you want a copy of v1.2 of our new Viral Membership Software at the lowest price it will ever be, you’d better act fast. We’re taking it off the market next week while we make some upgrades to the software. Then, it will go back on the market with a $150 price tag. And, yes, you’ll receive lifetime upgrades to the software if you order during this limited time subscriber offer.

http://www.viraltoolbox.com/subscriber-offer/

Don’t know what this is all about?

Read on…

Dan Raine decided to try something very daring not knowing what his outcome would be. He gave himself a personal challenge to take $150 and turn it into $15,000 within 30 days. He did this as if he were starting from scratch with no list and no website. And, he decided to do it in a niche that will completely surprise you.

Did he make it? No! But, he did make $12K in those 30 days, AND he documented his every step in getting there in his $15K Challenge blog.
http://www.15kchallenge.com/blog/

Take some time to read about his challenge. Dan was very generous with marketing information in his log of daily activities. You’ll learn just as much (if not more) from his experience as you will from an expensive eCourse. But, Dan’s case study is free!

Now, as if Dan’s case study alone weren’t powerful enough, we have created the very same software Dan used to build his viral membership site that made him $12K in 30 days with only $150 to spend.

What could you do with software like this? Could you copy what Dan did? Yes, absolutely!

Now, this software has been been running on about a dozen sites for the past few months. It works. Very well.

Nevertheless, the software is a work in progress. Currently, it works exactly as Dan used it for his challenge. However, we have big plans for the software and have a long list of features and options we want to add. There will not be anything like it on the market. And, once we’ve integrated what we ultimately invision, it will have a price tag of $150.

Listen, this script coupled with Dan’s case study is so powerful we wanted to get it into your hands so that you can start making money with it… TODAY!

So, instead of waiting until the software has all the planned bells and whistles, we’ve decided to offer it to you now. After all, it’s a very powerful script right now.

Here’s how it will work. Beginning today, the price will be only $47 through Tuesday. Then, on Wednesday, it will be $57. On Thursday, it will be $67, and so on until it reaches $97 Sunday.

Then, we will take this offer down Sunday night at midnight and the software will not be available again until all features have been added.

If you purchase the software through this limited time offer, you not only receive the current version, you will also receive the upgraded version when it is ready… FREE! Furthermore, we’ll send it to you before we release it to the rest of the world, giving you an added advantage.

Here’s a link to the offer. It is meant only for our subscribers and only for a very limited time - no fancy sales letter. Just decide whether you want in on this limited time subscriber offer…

http://www.viraltoolbox.com/subscriber-offer/

You’ll need to act fast if you want it at the cheapest price it will ever be offered.

-Dave and Heidi Perry

P.S. This script may be used over and over again for any niche and on as many sites as you choose. Think of the possibilities. You could build not one, but dozens of your own niche viral membership sites that build your lists automatically and make you money month after month.

This kid will go places…

How Many Pages Are Indexed in Google?

February 24th, 2006

Ever wondered how many pages are indexed in Google’s SERPs? I wonder if this search gets us close?

It also works with a simplified search.

How many billions is that?

I tested the link earlier this morning, and it returned 27 billion. Just now, it returned only 9 billion.

It is, at least, interesting to consider.

Jon Drops the Bombshell

February 20th, 2006

I’ve been thinking about those of you who took us up on our offer made with Stephanie of Adsense Queen. Dave and I gave up our commissions because we really want you to succeed. We know Stephanie’s methods work and we feel strongly that Stephanie is the one to help you get there.

I guess what I really want to say is, “Keep plugging away at this!” If you learn and implement what Stephanie teaches you and use the tools she provides each month, you WILL make your living online. I feel strongly about this.

And, to give you a little inspiration, I wanted to share a link I found on the SitePoint forums. I knew Jon was making some decent money, I just didn’t know exactly how much. Turns out that Jon is making very serious money (probably to the tune of $1 million yearly) with affiliate and PPC income (like Adsense). Over the past years, he’s been building sites similar to what Stephanie is teaching you. Now, with a network of over 1,500 sites, he’s making some serious money.

Go take a look at the thread Jon started, complete with a screenshot if his Commission Junction affiliate income alone of $81,332.78. This doesn’t even take into consideration the income he makes from sources like Adsense and other PPC networks.

You’ll have to wade through some negative bashing of people doubting his credibility. I know why they’re gun shy. There have been posts by unscrupulous people who digitally alter figures. I don’t believe this is the case with Jon. This one seems like the real deal.

As Jon says:

I usually never brag, but I’m willing to post this and take any real questions you may have about how to increase your conversions.

Read his posts. Take Jon up on his generous offer and learn from his posts.

It IS possible to achieve exactly what Jon has accomplished. Slow and steady, keep plugging away. You’ll get there.

Have a Merry Little Chrismukkah?

December 21st, 2005

A few years ago, I wrote about a package I received in the mail for something I had ordered online from a company during the holidays. Surprisingly, it arrived all wrapped up in Christmas paper. I wrote about what a nice touch it was and how the company had scored my interest for future purchases — a great marketing ploy.

After sending that article to our list, subscriber Shel Horowitz replied to let me know that the article may have been inappropriate as the marketing tactic could be offensive to the jewish such as himself, as well as a few other religions. His appreciated concern was duly noted.

Since then, I have been careful to wish people “Happy Holidays” and to not mention Christmas on our lists. The exception to this has been those with whom I have a an unvoiced mutual understanding, if you will. For example, those who frequent our home business forums come from all walks of life, religions, and socio-economic demographics. We share a mutual respect for one another, regardless of background or even ability to speak English. They are, well, my friends. So, I went ahead and wished them a Merry Christmas with our family Christmas card.

Now, I guess the politically correct term is “Happy Holidays,” but you have to wonder how bizarre this whole political correctness is becoming. I mean, “Chrismukkah?”. But, what about Kwanzaa? And, where does Boxing Day fit in?

Oh, dear, this political correctness stuff does get sticky. But, then, I never was one for adhering to political correctness.

So… Merry Christmas! And, if you want to return a greeting from any other culture or religion, it would be very welcomed and appreciated here.

Secret Hidden Dots Track What You Print

December 13th, 2005

I recently read a fascinating article on hidden tracking dots made by certain color printers. These tiny yellow dots can hardly be seen by the naked eye.

Now anyone can tell what printer (make, model and serial #) you used to print your paper and exactly what time you printed it (date, hour and minutes). So, at work or at school, if you claim you finished your report days ago but forgot to turn it in until today, you may not have a leg to stand on. Imagine how private investigators and the FBI could use this information? How about your accountant or IRS agent?

The Electronic Frontier Foundation tells you exactly how they found and cracked the dots code at this link. They’ve also provided a current list of printers that automatically print the dots.

Is your printer on this list?

November 26th, 2005

The day after Thanksgiving — today is known as the busiest brick and mortar shopping day of the year for shear numbers of shoppers. Now, with ‘Black Friday’ out of the way, shoppers will turn online. Are you ready?

Startup Journal

This coming Friday is one of the year’s biggest days for shoppers and retailers. But for many, the Web has made the following Monday just as crucial.

With the rapid expansion of the Internet, the Monday after Thanksgiving has grown to be the all-important kickoff of the online holiday shopping season. On that day, consumers head back to work — and their computers — ready to shop after the long holiday weekend.
