Starting your a business will not always guarantee success. Set a proper plan to make sure that you’ll be ready for the next challenges that will come your way and a back-up plan ready in case things don’t turn out as you expected.

Hi I'm a newbie myself and I'm happy I'd found this forum I get to read lots of useful stuff I could apply. For me the best thing I could advice is for you to set your goals and be consistent and dedicated to your work. It's also important that you're happy with what you're doing, as long as you enjoy your work everything will work out fine.

What you are already doing; look in forums like this one what you can learn from the experiences people have with their Businesses.

To get started you want to find a mentor or program you can follow. If that doesn't work find a new program to follow. Then once you have 3-4 programs that work grab a little piece of each, and throw out the rest.

There is really no wrong way of getting started. Be diffrent, be odd, and you will stand out.

Like some have already mentioned here, it would depend on what you plan on doing with your online business. With that said there are a few universal truths that separate the successful from the unsuccessful. the biggest one being your mindset. Your mindset will have more of an impact on your results than any of your talents or learned skills. You must have the drive and work ethic to succeed. Better yourself and your business will get better.
