This issue of HomeBizBytes answers the question...

What can a young farm boy teach an old entrepreneur?

Hint: You'll need to get down and dirty to answer this one.

_____ DAVE'S AND HEIDI'S RAMBLINGS _________

A warm welcome from Heidi and Dave to our new subscribers.

Friends and Readers of HomeBizBytes,

Today was quite an eventful day at the Perry household. One of
those life changing "aaaahhh!" experiences. I had another
article in mind for today, but in light of recent events, I
decided to write today's article about today's experiences.
Enjoy!

Also, since our next issue falls on 9/11, we decided to put it
out the following day on 9/12. So, look for it then. Dave and
I have a special article planned for that issue.

_____ UPDATE _______________________________

We've talked about the new, free SubscriptionRocket service in
the last two issues. So, Dave and I wanted to give you an
update on our own experience and stats.

First of all, you should know that this has been one of the most
impressive services we have encountered all the way around. The
leads have been consistent, the customer service impeccable, and
the system plain and simply works! I don't think we've been
this impressed with a list-building service in years. Truly!

Here are our SubscriptionRocket stats for the past week from
only one category:

Since last Wednesday...

# of subscribers received: 92
# of duplicates: 1
# of unsubs: 1
# of new downline members: 8

From our experience, we can tell you that these are outstanding
stats. What they tell us is that 1) the system works amazingly
well for building your list, and 2) it is set up to be targeted
enough for subscriber retention.

If you want to build your list, this is an excellent way to do
it. If you do not have much traffic to your site to gain
credits, then concentrate your efforts on telling others about
this new, free list-building co-op and use their traffic to help
you build credits.

This is an excellent way to build your list. And, most
impressive is the high subscriber retention factor. It's hard
to believe this is free!

Here's how to take advantage of the special, free bonus we
negotiated for our subscribers - 200 FREE CREDITS right off the
bat...

In Troy's own words, here's what he told us...
-----
  1. They (your subscribers) will have to join free through
your unique URL, log into your account and retrieve it.
     http://www.subscriptionrocket.com/cgi-bin/r.cgi?r=179
  2. They will have to confirm their account.
  3. They will have to activate their account by placing their
     unique HTML on their site.
  4. After the above three things are done, they are to send
an e-mail to me, Troy, at support@SubscriptionRocket.com
     and include:
     - their user name
     - and the words "200 HomeBusinessOnline Bonus".
Remind them to follow steps 1-3 or the system won't allow me
  to add the credits.
-----

There you have it. All FREE! That's all you have to do to
claim your 200 bonus credits.

If you have any trouble at all, let us know and we'll
personally contact Troy for you. Okay?

Be sure to use this unique URL or you won't receive your 200
bonus credits:
http://www.subscriptionrocket.com/cgi-bin/r.cgi?r=179

Here's to building your targeted list and getting plenty of
new sales!

_____ FEATURED ARTICLE _____________________

                       Eeewwww!

Our children learned some pretty interesting life lessons today
at a nearby dairy farm. We have a unique young man (mid
twenties) in our neighborhood whose passion is and always has
been his work with his cows on a nearby dairy farm.

Feeling it would be a very good experience for our children to
see, first-hand, the birth of a calf, I asked Jason if he would
call me when a cow was calving between the hours of 7am and 8pm
(not extremely common). Well, we got a call at 2:30pm today.
"It's now or never," he asserted.

I excitedly rounded up the children and ran down to the farm.
With 90-degree weather, we arrived to the aroma of nature's
steamy hot dairy perfume. Ahhhh.

After some time, it became apparent the cow was not progressing
as fast as she should have, so Jason moved things along by
breaking her water. After another slow 30 minutes, he decided
to tie a rope to the feet of the calf and pull it out.

"Eeewww!" our 7-year-old Michael blurted out as Jason shoved his
hand deep into parts we'd rather not mention to find the calf's
feet. I had to admit, it wasn't a very pleasant sight.

After much pulling and leveraging, the very large calf finally
entered the world. "PLOP," went the calf with a big thud onto
the ground. "Ouch," I thought.

"This is why I love what I do here at the farm," Jason sighed
pensively as we looked over this beautiful new heifer. No
doubt, it was an awesome sight.

It dawned on me that while working on a dairy farm may not be my
dream, Jason was truly living his own dream. This was
significant.

While he liked running the tractors, he disliked cleaning out
the cow patties. While we enjoyed helping the cow bring her
calf into the world healthy and breathing, you've got to know he
didn't enjoy sticking his arm into the back of the cow. Yet he
followed through with all these things because of his passion
for his work - he loved what he gained from the whole
experience.

Now, isn't this the same cycle we go through as entrepreneurs?

1) We have a passion we are driven to follow.
2) We soon realize there are unpleasant tasks that come along
with the business. They can't be ignored.
3) We may feel like giving up.
4) We have moments that reach deep into our souls, reminding
us of why we do what we do.
5) Those moments drive us to renew our passions, to continue
   and succeed.

And so, the cycle begins over and over again.

Each of us has our own passions and interests. Yours may be
very different from mine, but, we seek out the people with whom
we can share our passions. These people become our target
audience, our customers. Because we work on a smaller, more
personal level as home-based, small business entrepreneurs,
those same people also become friends and associates.

We take the good with the bad. It's all part of the
entrepreneurial game.

And, after all is said and done, the most exciting part about
this game is that when we look back over our years of learning,
failing, succeeding, we realize that what we have gained
personally has certainly been worth more than the monetary value
of our business.

Can you relate, my fellow entrepreneur?
