This issue of HomeBizBytes answers the question...

If you had only one hour to sit down with a seasoned
work-from-home entrepreneur, what honest, sage advice
    would he/she give you?

Hint: It's not just one thing, rather, 22 lessons to be exact.

_____ DAVE'S AND HEIDI'S RAMBLINGS _________

A warm welcome from Heidi and Dave to our new subscribers.
Thank you in advance for sharing this issue with friends,
family and associates!

Friends and Readers of HomeBizBytes,

--> Demented minds think alike!
Monday evening we had our traditional Christmas get-together at
my Mother-In-Law's house. Toward the end of the evening, she
asked each person to tell what they liked best about Christmas.
Everyone was giving their usual warm and fuzzy answers. You
know, things like, "good cheer," and "Christmas music." Then,
it was Dave's turn and I would follow him. Dave's answer?
"The 26th!" I burst out laughing, "That was my answer too!"
Okay, call Dave and myself Scrooge, but if you have children
and experience the associated exhaustion levels, you know what
we're talking about.

Actually, Dave and I do love the holidays, as do our children;
however, there's something to be said about getting beyond
December 25th. For home-based entrepreneurs who celebrate
Christmas with children, trying to juggle family and business
can get stressful. So, for Dave and myself, anyway, we gladly
welcome the 26th. Can anyone relate?

--> Cause for Reflection
We hope you enjoy this issue's featured article. Dave and
I sat down and brainstormed 22 lessons we've learned throughout
the years as home-based entrepreneurs. I'm sure we could come
up with plenty more, but these give you a good gist of life as
a home-based (or "kitchen table") entrepreneur. Certainly, you
will relate with many of the lessons.

We suggest you do the same. Sit down and reflect on your own
lessons learned as a home-based entrepreneur. A good exercise
for the end of the year.

We wish you all a happy and prosperous holiday and new year!

Enjoy this issue.

_____ REVIEWS AND RECOMMENDATIONS __________

In the last issue, Dave and I mentioned the "Ultimate Home
Business Opportunity" for making money on eBay. From emails
received, we realized we needed to clear a few things up.

"The Ultimate Home Business Opportunity" is a more advanced
product, and we recommend you purchase it only if you already
have some experience in internet marketing and building
websites. Although it contains video tutorials that show you
step-by-step how the author makes large sums of money on eBay
with his unique websites in a week's time, you really need some
experience to take full advantage of this product.
Here's the link again:
http://www.homebusinessonline.com/ultimatehomebiz/

--> If you're an eBay beginner, we recommend Make Your Net
Auction Sell by Sydney Johnston.
http://www.homebusinessonline.com/preview/myss.html

--> If you have some experience on eBay and the internet, we
recommend Silent Sales Machine by Jim Cockrum.
http://www.homebusinessonline.com/preview/ebay.html

Now, have we made this clear as mud? Good.

_____ FEATURED ARTICLE _____________________

22 Lessons of a Kitchen Table Entrepreneur

On Living...

* Being a kitchen table entrepreneur is more than a way of
making a living, it is a way of living life.

* A kitchen table entrepreneur views all members of his/her
household as business partners to some degree.

* A kitchen table entrepreneur determines what risks he/she can
live with, and then takes them.

* A kitchen table entrepreneur measures his/her success not so
much by monetary payoff; rather, by personal satisfaction, time
freedom and autonomy.

* When starting a home-based business, a kitchen table
entrepreneur's lifestyle rarely ends up being as he/she
envisions it. As life and business evolve, a new, more
satisfactory vision is molded.

* A kitchen table entrepreneur often does his/her best business
thinking while in the bathroom or a car.

* A kitchen table entrepreneur has a constant flow of books
and courses at arm's reach in the bedroom, the bathroom, the
kitchen, and the car.

* A kitchen table entrepreneur learns more about him/herself
through starting and building a business than he/she ever could
have learned in any other way - often surprised by what
he/she's done right or wrong. Strengths and weaknesses,
confidence and humility.

On Managing...

* In starting a business, a kitchen table entrepreneur
encounters and taps into forces far greater than him/herself.

* A kitchen table entrepreneur often begins a business looking
for outside capital, and then realizes a better way is to
create his/her own capital.

* While pricing is a science, ultimately, a kitchen table
entrepreneur realizes he/she must charge enough to live.

* A kitchen table entrepreneur learns to ignore the dream
stealers and succeed in spite of them.

* No matter how carefully the kitchen table entrepreneur tries
to plan, things won't go as expected. Reality rarely, if ever,
follows plans.

* A kitchen table entrepreneur realizes he/she is the business'
greatest asset. He/she identifies his/her strengths and
designs the business around them. He/she stays true to what
makes him/her unique.

* A kitchen table entrepreneur learns to sell whether he/she
likes it or not. Selling and promoting become as natural as
breathing.

* A kitchen table entrepreneur must not treat his/her business
as a hobby, rather it should be treated as a business that will
someday be sold.

On Building...

* A kitchen table entrepreneur rarely starts one business. One
business leads to another, which leads to another. Multiple
businesses and/or multiple streams of income.

* A kitchen table entrepreneur is always tweaking his/her
marketing plan. Marketing is a necessary evil, both in good
times and in bad. Stop marketing and the business dies.

* Passion and sheer determination are necessary forces in
building a successful kitchen table business.

* A kitchen table entrepreneur expects to fail a time or two.

* Eventually, a kitchen table entrepreneur comes to a fork in
his/her business and must make the decision to stay small or to
expand.

* A kitchen table entrepreneur never stops dreaming and having
visions.

_____ KIND THINGS YOU HAVE SAID ____________

Note from Heidi & Dave: Thanks so much for your kind words.
They keep us going!...

   Heidi & Dave,

I wish you two knew that you have one of the only
publications I continually look forward to receiving. Now
if you could only help me raise the funds (by raising my
sales) to get to the NEXT level. It's going to take a lot
of money. I'm nervous about it too.
