We have business listing site callme .co .in. This business listing having 40+ category, 1400+ subcategory and 50+ city. Our main moto is to add local business listing and get traffic from that. Please anyone guide me how we can encourage people to add their business listing in our website..What will be strategy for it...

The challenge for you will most likely be the sheer number of competing business directories — and the number of categories and sub-categories you offer.

More is not always better. The more complicated you make your offer, the more likely that…

a. Many business owners will not want to sign up and wade through all those listings — especially if the sub-categories are too finely detailed.

b. Many potential customers will also be intimidated and confused by a selection that's too broad.

Directories are most successful when they're either early beginners — like the global giants — or they're very specific, either by industries/professions/trades, etc, or very local.

Or if they have a disruptive business model.

I use a novel approach to my own business directories that works very well, but I only operate in Australia, and ultra-locally (but networked nationally). I also only accept listings from LOCAL, independent small businesses — and I run local consumer networks via mobile web apps to generate leads and send offers from member businesses.

If you're outside Australia, I'm willing to share some details at my Facebook Group at https://fb.me/localsuccessproject/
