I wonder how can you increase customers' brand awareness through social marketing? If I use email marketing, are customers view my email as spam? About Facebook, I know that there are billion of users, but how can I best take advantage of it?

Are you meaning existing customers? Or prospective customers?

Email is best used for specific offers than for general brand awareness, but according to McKinsey % Co (the world's #1 management consultancy), email is at least FORTY TIMES more effective than Facebook and Twitter combined.

Email marketing can only be done if you have a email list. You can use one email to pitch a list from a soload seller but then you will have to have a very good copy in your list. Social Marketing is a very good way to increase your brand awareness. You can create group or a fan page about your brand. This way people will be able to know about your business through the group or fan page. You can also increase the awareness of your brand group or fan page by paying Facebook. This way you can increase your brand awareness easily and quickly. Good Luck!

One of the great ways to increase brand awareness via social media is to engage with your followers. Start sharing posts in question forms, asking their answers and addressing concerns. This will make you reachable in customer's eyes and thus improves the brand's image.

In my opinion email marketing is a good idea when you want to present a certain product, service or offer. Before you start with email marketing you should gather information - contacts (email list), profile of your customers. One of the best thing about email marketing is that you can make your "advertising" to sound more personal. In my previous job our manager always required from us to find the names and personal emails of the CEOs of the companies that we wanted to contact. It wasn't easy, but we saw the effect. The open rate was higher.
When it comes to Facebook and other social networks I think they offer many options for advertising, fan pages, following, etc. I am also new at this area. If I find something interesting and useful I'll share it here :)

As it comes to Facebook, it offers many possibilities to advertise and build brand awareness. You should be active, share other posts and make sure that your own posts are good quality. You can also join few thematic groups to approach specific audience and gain new customers. You can consider using Facebook advertisements - they are not free, but are for sure effective, and using right targeting will help you reach the audience you can benefit from.

Social media can have a great impact on your brand image. There are some important steps you can take to improve your brand awareness through social media. First of all, choose the most suited social media platform for your brand. Then, make a strong social media strategy and start interacting with your targeted audience and share excellent content which will help you in making a strong image of your brand.

I would advise taking an approach to facebook and youtube, whether is to produce content or to do paid advertising.

If you want to see results from social media marketing you definitely need to have an SMM-strategy! I think the biggest factor is not knowing where to do this because social media goes beyond Facebook, which seems to be the most common strategy mentioned by people. I think the ones mentioned here https://www.1and1.co.uk/digitalguide/on ... platforms/ are some of the best places to start when looking for an SMM-strategy. Vimeo is mentioned on the list...has anyone here used Vimeo before??
