Kashif, I'm not really clear about what you're asking.

Some forums attract search engine crawler bots because of their high levels of activity and low levels of forum spam. This is one of those forums as a result of our deliberate policies of removing spam and banning spammersespecially SEO spammers.

When a forum reaches a certain level of quality and quantity of content, search engines may decide to assign a bot exclusively to that forum, permanently. That's what these forums enjoy.

That fact alone attracts a continuous stream of predators and parasites who want to exploit our high standing with search engines.

So for anyone who has such thoughts, please understand that you can expect a very short stay if we even suspect your intentions are unacceptable.

SEO Spammers are really an annoyance since they not only hurt themselves but also the forums when it comes down to search engines, I would gladly give a helping hand with eliminating these spammers if I could.

Seriously, folks... trashing spammers is a very worthwhile practice for forum owners and moderators. It encourages quality visitors and quality posting. Sure, It's tedious and boring doing it, but the rewards are definitely worth it. (Is YOUR site being routinely crawled by Google and Yahoo! multiple times every hour.

I completely agree with you on that. Spammers are nothing more than people who come to a forum in order to give users a poor experience. What really pisses me off is the fact that these spammers are posting a bunch irrelevant and nonsensical questions which answers can easily be found on Google.

Not sure — I don't have access to the site's settings and analytics. But it's not set too high or nobody could access the forum content.

Fortunately this is not a high-activity forum, which helps. We focus more on quality than quantity — a benefit of booting and banning spammers, fast and hard.

It is only that such forums are of good priority in the eye of Google Bot and Yahoo Bot. It is just a matter of time when these forums will also lose their importance and won't be crawled until 6 months or so.

On what criteria do you base your claim? Twice a year seems a bit of a stretch.

I think Google bots have learned by themselves much at the moment; it can determine whether one forum/site has good and quality posts or comments or not. Then, it will decide to crawl such great forums faster and faster, even just a few minutes. If one forum is very active, people are ready to help and give out the good answers, Google will see it great, so crawl it now! Unless, the bot will let it there.

GoogleBot is able to detect stolen content from other sites and penalise the site — including forums — publishing the stolen content.

That gives us added incentive to come down hard on any forum member swiping other people's content, either from other sites or from other members of these forums.
