It makes you realise that these people who say that they have cracked google's code are talking rubbish. People don't seem to realise that all these software tools that automate first page listings in google no longer work when they hit the market. They may have once before when the select few were using them to get great listings at the top of the search engines but as soon as Google latches onto these tools and changes their algorythms. they get sold to the open market to would be internet marketers who think they are buying the latest automation tools.

Btw, anyone know how to post videos on regular comments? I tried the [video], [html], and even straight up html and nothing seemed to be working.

Victor,

You can't post videos in posts — it's too open to abuse by morons and spammers.

The best solution is to post a small image of the video and link the image, or a caption, to the video itself.

That's what I did on the first post in this topic.

The Algorithm changes daily, It's built into the HTML of google and when you're dealing with an algorithm that is full on html code pulling from a massive database you're going to have to look at it everyday for years upon years.

This gives good insight into what Google does and why, but I'm not sure how much 'better' it makes searches. There are still ways to crack the algorithm in some cases and people are ONLY optimizing for Google, which can sometimes skew the way in which content is distributed.

As far as keeping spam down and keeping relevant searches at the top, I think they do a pretty good job, but some search engine competition might be a welcome sight.

I actually dispute that Google is improving their search algorithm. They are only changing it to favor the larger corporate sites. It seems in most searches the first page is filled with result from Amazon and other large corporate chains.
