well, i've been reading around, and one of the question that seems
to be asked often is how do we get traffic?

some people says article marketing, traffic generating websites, forums, search engines, etc...

but to me, the real question is whether traffic we're generating is of quality, or are we juz chasing the numbers...

im not saying that certain methods are wrong, or doing your efforts useless...
but it juz depends on what u are looking for.

what im getting at is the quality of the traffic, with that means conversion...
i would rather have a list of 100 genuine subscribers then 10000 who are simply "going through the motions".

but at the end of it all, it depends on what you are looking for... \
juz inputting my 2cts

Hello My Friends,

I totally agree with the fact that it is much better to have high quality leads and traffic than high quanity. Here is a good example of what I mean. You can drive loads of traffic to your lets say online opportunity offer from say Traffic Exchanges and get very little results. Because the people you are showing your ad or site to are really not interested in what you have to offer because the only reason they are at those sites in the first place it to get credits to promote the same type of site. Thus making them quantity not quality you might get 15,000 hits to your site before you get one good solid lead.

On the other hand if you are using PPC or able to reach the top spot on the major Search Engines the people you are more than likely going to get viewing your site are people who typed in a specific keyword or phrase that is directly related to what you have to offer making them much higher quality leads. You may not get 15,000 hits but the hits you do get are more likely to take the action you desire because of the quality of the person visiting your sire.

Well that is my 2 cent on the subject I hope it helps!

Some few quality backlinks can worth much more than many low quality (low PR, from not related sites) backlinks.

Of course quality is more imortant than quantity, but it dosn't mean that a few links will all the work for you. You should find some balance.

Going for quality backlinks would be a good option as it has an impact on search engines.

I also agree that I'd rather have quality over quantity, but when you're just starting out, sometimes it helps to have the quantity and knowing that people are helping to drive traffic in.

Yes I agree if you're just starting it's also better quantity, because it will inspire you more to work harder. It will lift your spirit knowing that you ar ina right direction. But if there is no traffic you kind of lose hope.

I am new to the forum and relatively new to ecommerce in general. So I guess my question is, what is a good way for a complete beginner, to drive quality traffic? Be it for a website or blog etc.

Hi,

As much as I agree that quality is better than quantity, there is a balance between the two that needs to be considered. If your website has the potential to convert, then "tire kickers" can sometime convert to a sale.

I agree.

Getting tons of traffic to a page means nothing. I know a person who once spent a lot of money using email blasts to get people to go to his site. All it did was drive his bounce rate up.

High quality, targeted traffic comes from creating a lot of high quality keyword focused content pages. It is reinforced by getting a few, diverse, high quality links to those pages and amplified with social media. This may sound like a lot of work and running around, but if your content pleases your human visitors, they will spread word of your site for you, making the job easier.

Making your content useful and original is now key to getting traffic.

Normally writers fail to write the unique and compelling content when they dont have the good research and knowledge on the subject so they miss the things/current issues that everybody has been looking for.
