Normally writers fail to write the unique and compelling content when they dont have the good research and knowledge on the subject so they miss the things/current issues that everybody has been looking for.

And that is why probably that visitor click on google adsense ad :) Basically more google adsense
more poor content is, but fsure if just several adsense ads, that is good.

That's a very general discussion going on. Everyone knows that Quality is better then Quantity.

Sadly, that's NOT the case. The vast majority are focused on numbers only. That's QUANTITY, not quality.

You add nothing of real value to the discussion with sweeping, inaccurate generalisations like that.

I agree John about your Quantity statement. You can send all the traffic you want to a site but if it doesn't convert, it's just wasted traffic, time and possibly money if paid traffic.

I'd spend more time on research and understanding the target audience. Who you're trying to reach and how to help them. Provide the help, information and value people can use and they will seek you out.

Mike

I think the key factor for conversion is the right choice of key phrases. For example, if some article on the blog is well positioning on more general phrase that will result in more traffic but lower conversion. If someone positioning this article on phrase with a long tail, it will be less traffic but higher conversion. I personally think it's better and easier to positioning the subpage on few long tail phrases.

f5mtadas, that strategy used to work before Google implemented its Quality Guidelines. Today, any material that's poorly presented will suffer from a low search engine position.

Since Google has updated its algorithm quality no doubt is more important. Quantity could compete before, but now 1 unique visitor interested in content than 10 occasional visitors.

both of them are good most esp the quality. as for the quantity, make sure it has some elements of quality in them like creating quantity of backlinks that are coming from good quality websites. Also creating lots of (quantity) web content/articles that are of great benefit (quality) to its readers in some ways. so both of them are good just make sure they are approximately balanced.

Yes, both are helpful to get traffic but that conversion is not always high. You need to persuade your audiences by using other channels or platform aside from your website.
