The Google Keyword tool has become a disappointment in the past couple of years. You get a lot less results and would end up paying high prices for PPC because you don't know all of the results in a keyword search. Wordtracker is the recommended keyword search tool, but it costs money. Free the first month I believe.

That's because it's now only available to paying Adwords account holders. (See post, previous page.)

There's no free ride any more.

Google keyword tool is now merged into the Google Adsence tool. This is the most efficient platform for determining the appropriate keywords.

Moderator comment: This information is inaccurate and misleading. See next post.

You need to learn more about the different Google advertising platforms. This information is simply incorrect.

Adsense is used only by publishers, NOT by advertisers. The Google Keyword Tool is of no use to Adsense publishers. They already know the target audiences they deliver to Google's advertisers.

Adwords, on the other hand, is used by advertisers, not publishers, and is immensely useful to those advertisers.

The simple truth is that the Google Keyword Tool is now merged into the Adwords platform.

However, none of this addresses the major differences between the Google Search Network and the Google Content Network (where most publishers make their real money from Google Adsense).

Here's a really good explanation of the differences to help you understand three different Google Advertising platforms, what they each do and how they work together.

Note: The Google Search Network doesn't really need explaining — it's Google's core function. You search for a keyword or term and Google shows you the search results on its SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). Those results are broken up into paid ads (top of each page and right hand side) and free listings — which are divided into two groups: local search and organic search.

Interesting tool. Will try out. As for increasing links, i think, you can try to anchor the keywords to the links.

Yes friend, you are right. If you give the backlink on the anchor text, then it is really beneficial for your website. And yes, Google Adwords is one of the best tools regarding keyword research. It helps you to get the perfect keyword for your domain.

To me, Google's free keyword tool is the king among programs of these type, despite all its cons.

Except that it's no longer free… unless you're buying Adwords.

I am also disapointed by Google Keyword Planner, is there a minimum they have put to get access to keyword data, can I just pay only $10 adwords then get access to their data?

Google Keyword does not work well enough as it had in past years. You can't get as many keywords to work with, and the ones you get are highly competitive and costly. That's why there are several competitors out there, but of course they are not free, and maybe a little expensive. I have come across and use a software product that shows the most views of keywords on several platforms, including GOOGLE, BING, YAHOO, YOUTUBE, AMAZON AND EBAY. It is very effective and cheap. Contact me at [private email address removed — read the forum rules], and I'll show you how to get it, or go straight to: [commercial product URL removed — read the forum rules BEFORE posting]
