This post is in reply to a post on the Member Events board by Munster Bizsummit for a SME Summit in Ireland.

I was originally going to post it as a suggestion in a Private Message, but then I figured it might help more of our forum members, so here it is for anyone who wants to use it.

1. Create a Facebook Page for the event.

    Use this to promote the event and ask people to "Like" it. Fewer than 16% of "Likers" will receive your notifications, but the REAL purpose of this page is to promote the event itself, and to drive new members (FREE) to your Facebook Group, where 100% of members will receive your notifications.

2. Create a Facebook Group for the event.

    This is a PUBLIC Group where anyone can join and view the information. 100% of Group Members will receive your notifications.

    Use it to promote special offers and deals, incentives, bonuses, etc. (Example: exclusive members-only Google+ Hangouts by guest speakers relevant to the event. Use the Hangout to drive even more sharing of your event by Members.)

    This is like having a mailing list. You can also include a subscription link for an autoresponder list if you have one. (If you don't, look at ListWire.com, which is free and has all kinds of excellent features, including a unique pop-up subscription form that you can set up to appear on ANY page on the web, even other people's web pages!)

3. Create a Facebook Event.

    This is where you promote the event itself.

    You can promote using Facebook Promoted/Sponsored Posts and News Feed Ads. Use Google to learn more about using these EFFECTIVELY.

Facebook has eliminated messaging group members now once the group gets over a certain number. NOt sure what that number is! I just know that my little group of 10 people has the message option and my group of 3800 people does not.
So now the only way they will get a notification is if they have not blocked group post notifications or I post an event in the group.

This simply highlights the absolute importance of building your own mailing list of your Group members.

Create a strategy for subscribing new Group members as quickly and painlessly as possible after they join your list.

I have some Groups where join requests will NOT be approved until after mailing list subscriptions are confirmed.

And remember… it's not WHAT you do that makes it desirable or undesirable, ethical or unethical, etc.

It's WHY and HOW you do it!

Learning to speak the Secret Language of Prospects will go a long way toward achieving this.

Provide relevant links in your blog or content in order to provide quality content about your blog.
Make strong interlinking features to satisfy your customers.

For getting Traffic you need to make use of paid services that will easily provide you huge traffic. But if you want to get genuine traffic to your site then you need to focus on your content and its advertising and marketing tactics.
