The Work-from-Home Industry

Home business is
fast becoming big business. At very least the home-based industry is
something to be reckoned with. Why? IDC/Link, a leading marketing research company located in New York City, estimates that the number of people working at home, either full- or part-time, has grown to over 40 million. This is roughly one third of the entire labor force. Of those 40 million, 14.9 million are self-employed entrepreneurs, 15.8 million run part-time businesses at home to supplement their full-time jobs, and 9.6 million are telecommuters. Growing by the millions each year, these numbers indicate that home-based businesses are here to stay. People want a more independent, fulfilling lifestyle than corporate America and the traditional labor force can offer. |
